Shop: Beaker

I dropped by Beaker, a fashion and life style selected store, in Cheongdam dong yesterday to buy a small gift. It has been a year since I visited here last time. There are still full of interesting stuff from clothing, accessaries, cosmetics, fragrances to stationaries and many more.

As you might guess, the name is originated from a lab equipment, beaker, which used for containing chemicals to create new ones. In a similar vein, 'Beaker' plays a role as a platform where fashion and life style mingle together to create new culture and trend.

It also aims upcycling concept for its business and thus they collected abandoned building materials, unwanted furnitures for its construction and to furnish the space. Throughout this process, Beaker created the new place, its stores, but respects the memories that the old materials inherent and gives a new life for them.

At the moment, they also have Christmas items. Although I introduce only the ground floor in this post, you can find a loads of fancy clothing upstairs. Check out their website to find which brands do they have and the location of its branches.

Shop: Object

There are two Object shops in Seoul. This is one in Samcheong-dong, and the other is located in Hongdae area. It pursues eco-friendly business by encouraging consumers to make a wise purchase. It deals with products by many different designers who share the similar value with its business ethics. Object also tries to give life to old, abandoned and unneeded items in our daily life.

The shop might seem as a very little tiny space from outside but once you enter the shop, loads of interesting and eye-catching items are waiting for you.

On the whole, the shop has variety of unique items and the price is reasonable. If you would like to buy some special items which are different from mass produced products, this shop would be of your interest.

Beer shop: Bottle One

I am not a beer expert. To be more honest, I do not even have basic knowledge about the term used to categorise beers like Ale, Pale Ale, etc (I can only recognise lager and dark beer). But it is still true I do love beers! Only a couple of days before coming back to Korea, a friend of mine sent me the photo of this shop and promised that she will introduce this place to me once I come back to Korea. Finally, I visited 'Bottle One', an imported beer shop, last week. As a beer lover, I had a huge expectation of this shop because I have heard that Bottle One is a relatively specialised beer shop in Korea. Indeed, there are not many places where people can buy many varieties of imported beers in Korea.

Actually, the shop itself is quite small but no worries. As the beers at Bottle One are always updated and changed, you will not get bored by trying new arrivals. Also they have frequent special offers and promotions such as price discount, giving away beer glasses.

My friend and I bought four different bottles and when we left there, we were already drinking London Porter and Honey Dew (We can not wait!). I will definitely visit this shop again soon to check new imported beers out. The staff was very friendly and helpful so if you have any questions, feel free to ask help to them.

+ Bottle One has two sister businesses, 'Pub One' and 'Craft One', where you can have a seat and take your time to enjoy nice beers not just buying bottles, within walking distance.
